(EN) SANDRA SANGIAO says goodbye to BARCELONA GIPSY BALKAN ORCHESTRA after
seven years together, with a SINGLE CONCERT that will be LIVE STREAMED (see link to
our YouTube channel below) on October 30 at the mythical SALA APOLO in Barcelona.
An emblematic place that will host them once again for a night full of Eastern Europe
melodies and rhythms. The BGKO says goodbye to their angel, with her musicality and
her explosive contagious energy...
Along these years the band has achieved a remarkable international projection, playing
on a long list of countries that culminated in recent times with the first visit to New York
and Chicago. BGKO continues their musical journey trusting this list will keep growing,
reaching new listeners with new creations.
The BGKO has shared in this period their passion for music, for learning and artistic
evolution, but perhaps more vital has been the love they have received from their
audiences. Looking to the future, the orchestra continues working with enthusiasm,
producing new material and expanding its musical horizons with new collaborations.
This will be a concert that marks an end and a beginning.

These nomadic musicians and passionate explorers of the Klezmer and Gypsy sounds
extend their inspiration to a wider musical genre, understanding Balkan music as a set
of musical traditions and a multi-ethnic culture that goes beyond its geographical
boundaries and that also feeds of all those historical traditions that have ever inhabited
these lands: Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews, Gypsies, Ottomans, Arabs, etc.

Durante estos años la banda ha alcanzado una notable proyección internacional,
tocando en una larga lista de países que culmina en los últimos tiempos con la primera
visita a Nueva York y Chicago.. La BGKO continúa su viaje musical confiando que esta
lista siga creciendo, llegando a nuevos oyentes con nuevas creaciones.
La BGKO ha compartido en este periodo su pasión por la música, por el aprendizaje y la
evolución artística, pero quizás más vital ha sido el amor que ha recibido del público.
Mirando hacia el futuro, el grupo seguirá trabajando con ilusión, produciendo nuevo
material y ampliando sus horizontes musicales con nuevas colaboraciones. Éste será un
concierto que marca un final y un inicio.

Estos músicos nómadas y apasionados exploradores de los sonidos klezmers y gitanos
extienden su inspiración a un género musical más amplio, entendiendo la música
balcánica como un conjunto de tradiciones musicales y una cultura multiétnica que va
más allá de sus confines geográficos y que se nutre también de todas aquellas
tradiciones históricas que han habitado alguna vez estas tierras: judíos ashkenazi y
sefardíes, gitanos, otomanos, árabes, etc.
